Easily the most amazing fried fish in the south. Do yourself a favor and go today!
Short and sweet because I couldn't wait to post until I finished and I can't keep my hands away from the plate too much longer.
Pro tip: ask for light salt on fried fish. -

The handwritten menu was the first clue that this place was the real deal. Not a bit fancy and carefully considered, the food could not be more flavorful. Others have offered suspicions that someone's grandmother was in the kitchen. Turns out to be true, at least in spirit. Carl, one of the owners, cooks without a recipe the way his mother and grandmother taught him. It shows. The chicken and dressing was a marvel of fluffy cornbread seasoned expertly and topped with savory chicken in gravy. The cabbage, collards and green beans were all soul satisfying. The service was friendly and excellent.
Delicious southern soul food, unpretentious atmosphere with easy on/off I24. -

This place was recommended to me by a friend and I have eaten here twice in 2 weeks and I will definitely be coming back! The 1st time I had the neck bones with mixed greens and white beans and cornbread, the neck bones were wonderful full of flavor and the portions were spot on!! The greens were so damn good you could put them on bread and make them into a sandwich! Not forgetting about the beans and cornbread they were very good as well. Next visit I had fried chicken that would make Colonel Sanders envious crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside! Of course I had the greens which were not a disappointment and the pintos and cornbread were very good!
I also had an order of turkey necks (cause I was really hungry) and all I can say about the turkey necks is: DAMN!!!! I want this place to serve me my last supper!! Great people running this place friendly atmosphere and really really good home cooking made with Love food for your Soul. -

Damn this place! I was just about to start a freaking summer diet! In hopes of gaining a six pack back I probably just destined myself to a full new belly roll because I screwed up yesterday and found this place on yelp. The problem: its too close to my work, its way underpriced for the portions, and they have a daily changing menu so the option of everyday is definitely a possibility. Ive been trying for years to try to wean myself off of soul food, the problem is that it has lodged itself in my DNA like concrete and my fat cells require constant recharging otherwise they produce a chemical that makes me a little crazy like Trump. Greens were off the chain. The pork chops were like Granny's. The peach cobbler I fore see will cost me a few days of my life on the end but make it so much sweeter. Great place and great find! This is why i love yelp.
